The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has made jump started a “Look Before You Book” campaign by creating a Smart Phone application called SafeBus/SaferBus which lets you check the safety record of Bus companies before riding the bus, and trucking companies before entrusting them with your automobile or other cargo. The application is similar to the SaferSys website, but easier to navigate. You can search by company name, or better yet, copy the US DOT number off the Bus or Truck and search on the fly.
