Assistant coach faces judge in triple fatal DUI wreck
I practice law in Columbia SC and it’s heartbreaking to read stories like this one:
A college baseball coach has been arrested for DUI. Lt. Mike Aikens, with the Anderson Police Department, said Riley Christopher McDermott, 24, was driving a vehicle that crossed the centerline at 12:17 a.m. Saturday morning and crashed head-on into a car at the intersection of East Calhoun Street and U.S. Highway 29, also known as Boulevard Street. Investigators said McDermott was taking a curve at more than 70 miles per hour when the wreck happened.
